In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, railway stations across India, including Bhubaneswar Railway Station, have been placed under high security alert. Authorities have ramped up safety measures to protect passengers and railway staff amid heightened nationwide concerns.
Intensive Security Checks at Bhubaneswar Railway Station
On Monday, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted strict security operations across the entire Bhubaneswar Railway Station premises. Security personnel were seen thoroughly checking passengers, inspecting baggage, and monitoring every movement within the station.
A senior RPF official urged the public to remain vigilant and help security teams.
“We request passengers to immediately inform us if they notice any suspicious person or unattended baggage at the platforms,” the official said.
Passengers Screened, Luggage Closely Monitored
Sources confirmed that every passenger is now being subjected to detailed screening. Any person showing suspicious behavior is being questioned on the spot to rule out any threat.
RPF teams are using advanced surveillance systems like CCTV cameras and handheld scanning devices to monitor crowd movements and baggage more efficiently. Additional personnel have been stationed at all critical points — including entrances, exits, platforms, and parking zones — to keep an extra watchful eye.
The security procedure has been intensified following urgent advisories issued by national security agencies after the Pahalgam incident.
An RPF spokesperson emphasized,
“We are taking no chances. Every individual and every piece of baggage is being checked thoroughly to ensure the station remains safe for all passengers.”
Passengers Cooperating Amid Tightened Checks
Passengers have largely welcomed the increased security, understanding the importance of safety over inconvenience.
Authorities have requested travelers to arrive earlier than usual to allow enough time for security checks, which might otherwise delay their boarding process.
Officials have also issued public advisories urging everyone to:
- Cooperate during security inspections
- Report any unattended items or suspicious activities immediately
- Avoid crowding around security checkpoints to ease operations
Train Services Continue Uninterrupted
Despite the strict checking, train services are running as usual at Bhubaneswar Railway Station. There have been no major delays or disruptions reported so far. However, authorities are maintaining tight surveillance on all platforms, waiting areas, and ticket counters.
The RPF and other security agencies will continue heightened vigilance until further instructions are received from the central security authorities.
