The Government of Odisha, in partnership with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has introduced the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) 2025. This initiative aims to enhance employment opportunities for young graduates by providing industry-based training through internships in top companies. The scheme was originally announced in the Union Budget 2024-25, and now the Odisha Higher Education Department has instructed universities in the state to facilitate student enrollment.

What is the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) 2025?

PMIS is a 12-month internship program designed to provide graduates with practical experience in India’s top 500 companies. Key Highlights:

  • 1 crore young individuals will receive training over the next five years.
  • The program offers financial support, corporate mentorship, and insurance coverage.
  • Helps participants develop industry-ready skills.
  • Interns will be placed in leading companies to gain hands-on experience.

This initiative is specifically for young Indian graduates aged 21–24 years who are currently unemployed and not engaged in full-time education.
