The Odisha government is set to release financial assistance under the fifth phase of its Subhadra Yojana today (March 6). This welfare scheme aims to empower women across the state by providing direct financial aid.
1.85 Lakh Beneficiaries to Receive Funds Today
As per official sources, 1.85 lakh women beneficiaries will have the assistance directly credited to their bank accounts today. With this latest disbursement, the scheme has now reached nearly 1.2 crore women across all five phases.
Application Process Still Open Until March 31
The response to Subhadra Yojana has been overwhelming, with over 1.08 crore applications received so far. However, the application process is still open, and women who meet the eligibility criteria can apply before March 31 to avail of the benefits.
Door-to-Door Survey to Identify Left-Out Beneficiaries
To ensure that all eligible women receive financial support, the Odisha government will soon launch a door-to-door survey. Government officials will visit households to identify those who qualify for the scheme but haven’t yet received the funds.
Pending Instalments to Be Released on Raksha Bandhan
Women who are found eligible through the survey will not have to wait long for their benefits. As per sources, they will receive a bulk payment of three pending installments on Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi Purnima).
What is Subhadra Yojana?
Subhadra Yojana was officially launched on September 17, 2024, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is one of Odisha’s biggest women empowerment initiatives, aimed at supporting over 10 million women between 21 and 60 years of age.
Financial Assistance: How Much Do Beneficiaries Get?
Under this scheme:
1. Each eligible woman receives ₹10,000 annually
2. The amount is disbursed in two installments of ₹5,000
3. Payments are made on Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day
4. Over five years, a beneficiary can receive up to ₹50,000
Who is Eligible for the Subhadra Yojana?
To qualify for the scheme, applicants must:
1. Be a permanent resident of Odisha
2. Have an annual family income below ₹2.5 lakh
3. Not be a government employee or an income taxpayer
4. Not receive more than ₹1,500 per month from other government welfare schemes
Ensuring Transparency with Direct Bank Transfers
All funds under Subhadra Yojana are directly credited to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, ensuring transparency and financial security for beneficiaries.
With the March 31 deadline fast approaching, eligible women who haven’t applied yet should submit their applications soon to secure the benefits.
