The Odisha government has introduced nine new welfare schemes while keeping all existing programs from the previous BJD administration intact. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi confirmed this during a session in the Odisha Assembly today.
In response to a question from Badri Narayan Patra, a BJD MLA from Ghasipura, the CM assured that the new BJP-led government has not scrapped any schemes initiated by the previous government under Naveen Patnaik. He clarified that while some programs have been renamed, no proposals have been submitted to discontinue any existing ones.
Majhi also shared official data highlighting the launch of nine new schemes under his leadership. These initiatives aim to support various sectors, including education, agriculture, temple administration, and rural development.
Here’s a list of the newly launched schemes:
- Godabarisha Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalaya – A scheme aimed at improving primary education standards.
- Corpus Fund for Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) – Financial assistance for the management and development of the revered Jagannath Temple in Puri.
- Samrudha Krushna Yojana – An agricultural initiative focused on boosting farm productivity and supporting farmers.
- Subhadra Yojana – A welfare program designed to empower women and enhance their economic status.
- Madho Singh Haath Kharch Yojana – Financial support for students and youth to help with educational expenses and skill development.
- Odia Asmita Corpus Fund – A fund dedicated to preserving and promoting Odia culture, language, and heritage.
- Antyodaya Gruha Yojana – A housing scheme targeting economically weaker sections to provide affordable homes.
- Viksit Gaon Viksit Odisha – A rural development initiative aimed at uplifting villages and ensuring holistic progress.
- Mukhya Mantri Shakti Bikash Yojana – A program designed to empower youth and promote skill development across the state.
With these new schemes, the Odisha government aims to continue developmental efforts without discontinuing any previously launched initiatives, ensuring continuity and progress for the people of the state.
