Bhubaneswar – The Odisha government has introduced the Odisha Antyodaya Gruha Yojana 2025, a flagship housing scheme aimed at providing financial assistance to low-income households residing in Kutcha houses and those affected by natural calamities, fire mishaps, or elephant attacks. This initiative, under the Odisha Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, promises a significant boost to rural housing infrastructure.
Financial Aid Increased for Beneficiaries
Under this scheme, the financial assistance for constructing houses has been raised from Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 1.8 lakh per unit, ensuring better quality homes for eligible beneficiaries. Additionally, the wage component under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) will supplement the aid, bringing the total support to Rs 2 lakh per unit. The government has earmarked a budget of Rs 105 crore to implement this ambitious program.
Why Was the Scheme Introduced?
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), which aimed to provide affordable housing, failed to cover many rural families in Odisha. As a corrective measure, the Odisha Antyodaya Gruha Yojana was introduced to bridge this gap and ensure housing security for those left out of the central scheme.

- Meet the income criteria set by the government.
Key Benefits of the Scheme
- Free housing for low-income families who do not qualify for PMAY-G.
