Under this scheme, the financial assistance for constructing houses has been raised from Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 1.8 lakh per unit, ensuring better quality homes for eligible beneficiaries. Additionally, the wage component under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) will supplement the aid, bringing the total support to Rs 2 lakh per unit.
