The Odisha government has transferred 11 Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officers, assigning them to important positions across different districts and institutions. The General Administration & Public Grievance (GA & PG) Department issued the transfer orders, with some appointments aligned with the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
Major Transfers and New Appointments
- Judhisthir Naik, previously the Registrar of Rajendra University in Bolangir, has been appointed as the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Jajpur.
- Niranjan Sahoo, former Tehsildar of Rasulpur, will now serve as the Administrative Officer at Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College & Hospital in Talcher.
- Kalpana, ex-Deputy Collector of Keonjhar, has been moved to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) as Deputy Commissioner.
- Sudhir Kumar Nayak, previously the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Ranapur, has been assigned as the Deputy Commissioner of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).
- Trupti Barai, former BDO of Udala, will now take on the role of Project Administrator at the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Jeypore, Koraput.
Changes in Medical and Urban Administration
The reshuffle also includes key postings in the health and municipal sectors:
- Siriyal Subhra Patel, who was the Tehsildar of Bhuban, has been appointed as the Administrative Officer at the Chief District Medical & Public Health Office (CDM & PHO) in Jagatsinghpur.
- Saubhagya Ranjan Panda, ex-Tehsildar of Basudevpur, will now oversee operations at Phulbani Government Medical College.
Transfers Canceled
In a few cases, previous transfer orders were revoked:
- Pranaya Ranjan Behera was initially assigned as the Executive Officer of Keonjhar Municipality but will instead continue as the Project Administrator at ITDA Baripada.
- Santanu Kumar Nayak’s transfer to ITDA Baripada was canceled, and he will remain as the Additional Executive Officer of the Mayurbhanj Zilla Parishad.
Other Notable Appointments
- Basanti Lakra, former BDO of Tiring, is now the Additional Sub-Collector of Bamanghati, Rairangpur.
- Rashmirekha Mallick, who previously served as the BDO of Marshaghai, has been assigned as Administrative Officer at CDM & PHO, Khordha.
Aim of the Reshuffle
This reshuffling is part of the government’s efforts to streamline administrative efficiency and ensure effective governance. Officers have been placed in roles related to education, healthcare, urban governance, and tribal development to enhance public service delivery across Odisha.
