Big changes are coming to Bhubaneswar Railway Station as part of a massive redevelopment project led by the Ministry of Railways and East Coast Railway. Construction Update: What’s Happening on the Ground?
Eastern Side (Cuttack Road):
- A 3-storey building has been fully built.
- Interior work are now underway.
Western Side (Master Canteen Area):
- Construction has reached the 4th floor of a planned 11-story structure.
- Work is progressing fast, with a focus on finishing internal spaces.
Budget & Infrastructure Highlights
- The total cost of the project: ₹398 crore.
- Designed to offer international airport-style facilities.
- A major highlight is a 108-meter-long air concourse — a wide overhead corridor connecting the east and west sides of the station. This will ease movement and reduce platform crowding. The roof work for this concourse is progressing quickly.
