A heart-wrenching case of child abuse has come to light in Bhubaneswar, where a 7-year-old orphan girl was allegedly subjected to horrific torture by her own grandfather. The incident was uncovered when the child was rescued from Shahid Nagar by a group of social workers.
A Life of Suffering
The little girl, who lost both her parents at a young age, had been living with her grandfather. However, instead of finding comfort and protection, she reportedly endured severe abuse at his hands. A woman in the household allegedly joined him in mistreating the child, turning her life into a nightmare.
Reports indicate that the duo inflicted unimaginable pain on the girl, branding her with hot iron rods. Her body bore visible scars from beatings and burns. The extent of the cruelty was such that she could no longer bear it, prompting her to run away from home in search of safety.
A Cry for Help Leads to Rescue
The girl was eventually found near an old Shiva temple in Shahid Nagar, visibly distressed and in tears. A concerned local, Kumar Swain, noticed her and immediately took action. Realizing the severity of her condition, he brought her to the Shahid Nagar police station, where she was handed over to the Ruchika Social Service Organisation.
Currently, the child is under the care of the organization while the police have launched an official investigation into the case. Authorities are working to ensure justice is served and that the girl receives the support and protection she so desperately needs.
This shocking incident has sparked outrage in Bhubaneswar, with many calling for strict action against the perpetrators and stronger measures to protect vulnerable children from such cruelty.
